  • models of user behavior for the engineering of safe dynamic human-machine-systems,
  • methods for modeling dynamics in technical and cognitive systems,
  • application of models in intelligent tutoring systems,
  • user models in hci, hmi and technical applications,
  • engineering of process information and management systems.

Current Projects

  • MoDyS: transfer, integration and enhancement of human performance modeling approaches to user modeling in dynamic human-machine systems (sponsored by VolkswagenStiftung).
  • GRK 1013 prometei: Support for modelbased evaluation of user interaction principles in early phases of system development (sponsored by DFG).
  • Networked Services for Drivers: methods to support the development of new networked services for mobile customers,
  • development of data-preprocessing steps which are necessary for the online integration of computational intelligence methods (usefull not only for user-modeling but any dynamic statistically disturbed process),
  • technical and didactical design of simulated micro-worlds and real plant remote laboratory experiments,
  • consulting and engineering of process information and management systems.
